The 6-Day Kilimanjaro Trek via the Marangu Route is the most direct and comfortable way to reach the Roof of Africa. Transfer from Arusha to Kilimanjaro National Park’s Marangu Gate. Begin your trek through lush rainforest teeming with birds and monkeys. Arrive at Mandara Hut for dinner and your first night on the mountain.
Trek through moorland with scenic views of Mawenzi Peak and Kibo. The trail is open and gradual, allowing time to adjust to altitude. Arrive at Horombo Hut for a well-earned rest and dinner.
Spend the day hiking to Zebra Rocks or toward Mawenzi Saddle before returning to Horombo for a second night. This acclimatization helps prepare your body for the high altitude ahead.
Hike across alpine desert to reach Kibo Hut, located at the base of the summit path. Rest early after dinner and prepare for your midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak.
Complete your descent through the forest to Marangu Gate. After check-out and receiving your summit certificate, meet your transfer vehicle for the drive back to Arusha. A well-earned shower and rest await!
